Our house has with a 5 inch flue. Wife wants a wood stove and likes one with a 6 inch outlet. We are in Turkey where there are no regs, or if there are no one cares. Would it be dangerous configuration.? It's a nice stove but don't want to kill anyone.
    Help...
    Cheers

Ask the manufactures - but I suspect that they will say a 6" flue is needed. I would be surprised if you will get anyone to 'give you permission' or take the responsibility for you to use a reduced flue. So much will depend upon the actual characteristics of the chimney and its location/environment. If you want an idea of how a 'built to regulation' chimney can function then have a read of http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=9305&page=1 (Smoke Nuisance – is wood wood?) Short version of a very long saga - a built to base/minimum regulations chimney failing to perform properly.

IMO you will be on your own with this one!
