    Hello,

I am looking for someone interested in and knowledgeable of sustainable materials, re-use etc. to renovate my small flat (IWI, joinery, other trades). There seem to be lots of people like this on this forum! But I can't find anyone in Edinburgh, only the conventional approach and attitude. Any tips?

    Thanks,
    W

Thanks Mike. Nothing there locally I'm afraid.

The Superhomes web-site (http://www.superhomes.org.uk/get-inspired/superhome-locator/) lists a house in Biggar. The owners may be able to recommend 'eco-refurb-friendly' contractors.

If you want to know about embodied energy and carbon in building products get hold of a copy of Bath Universities ICE spreadsheet/PDF. At least you will be forarmed.

Steamy, is the ICE spreadsheet now unavailable? Last time I looked for it I could only find a brief synopsis.

I got it a few months back, seem to remember that it took a bit of hunting about on the UoB site.

This is the Jan 2011 issue
