A) there are also flies for them to eat and holes for them to arrive through,
or
B) you see imaginary spiders!

If you follow your imaginary spider, it will eventually lead you to flies and holes. But it's easier to follow ants. They are amazing creatures, much more businesslike about things!]]>

Yes, but if we take the average per annum as 1.5 then you can say you have an 'ach' score that my calculator cannot even display! (1.5/365/24, I think, but I did get an E 2nd time round in Maths O level!)]]>

FWIW, ants usually come in on somebody's clothes, or on the cat's fur. Difficult to know after they have succeeded; most die trying. Flies occasionally make it through an open door but very rarely. Usually they sneak in on a plant brought into the conservatory/sun room. Spiders use either mechanism.]]>
