    Dear All - I have come across a new Maico MVHR unit which seems to be equivalent to a Paul Novous 300 but is a better price - specs below any views

    If you look at the efficiency according to the PHI tests the Paul has a heat recovery rate of 93% and the Maico 87%.

    That may seem pretty close but if with the Paul you have ventilation losses of say 1,000kWhr/a then with the Maico your ventilation losses will be almost double at 1,857kWhr/a

    There is another Maico unit on the PHI list which they have tested to achieve a 92% heat recovery rate which would be much closer to the Paul have you priced it? The model numbers are given as WR 310. WS 320 B. WS 320 K. WS 320 KB

    I have be quoted for the following which is roughly half the cost of the Paul Novous 300 the difference between the two units listed below is the KBET has an enthalpy heat exchanger - I don't know if this is worth the extra cost and the Maico web site doesnt explain what the benefits if any are - any views ?

    Don't forget, the pound is pretty good against the euro at the moment, so it might be cheaper to get a Paul from Germany. I think over there they're called Zehnder (?), and I had in mind from long ago that a co called nausea did them at reasonable preis.. But that may be a faulty memory

    Can you tell me where you got the Quote for Maico WS320 KB
    and is £1549.44 price exclusive of VAT
    The cheapest I can find it online is around £1700 plus vat plus delivery from Germany

    The Maico price was from their UK Subsidiary who were helpful but they only do one handed version and I had already done the layout so went for the Paul 300
