I received a quote for installed blown in celulose for 110 Euro/cubic meter, here in Spain. I compared this to the online price for warmcel which equates to 30 euros/cubic meter (for the product only). Is 80 euro/cubic m a reasonable price to pay for installation!?

Secondly, Warmcel seems to be OK to use in a cavity between 2 masonry walls - but on another product's page (Isofloc) they say that it's not suitable for a masonry cavity with no air gap:
    http://isofloc.com/isofloc-l-light-weight-cellulose-insulation.phtml

    Any ideas?

Anyone know if Isofloc's avail in UK, as alternative to the Warmcel monopoly? And Termex - still defunct?

I have no idea whether anything other than Warmcell is available in the UK, but as an aside, I have recently had blown Warmcell installed.

Looking at the photos in the link provided, I have to laugh. Everything looks so clean and tidy. Blown Warmcell creates a lot of dust that makes taking photos impossible as the flash reflects off all the floating dust. As for the mess, ......... The installers did a good clean-up after, but the stuff goes everywhere.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, just an observation.

warmcell is not suitable for a masonry cavity due to damp.

Stephen, I paid a little bit more than you're quoting for warmcel to be blown between timber frame studs, so 80 euro per m3 looks like a good rate. I'm in Scotland, though, so make your own comparison between relative labour rates for Spain!
