    Hi there,
I'm looking to get some experience on a green build. I've done my part one in Architecture and I'm proficient with AutoCad Architecture 2008. Have some construction experience, rudimentary carpentry etc, currently volunteering with the Habitat for Humanity project in Liverpool. Ideally would like an internship with a small practice, but also more than willing to get my hands dirty if there's site work going. I'm Based in Manchester, but able to travel pretty far and wide for a decent opportunity.
Cheers and a Happy New Year

    Stephen,

We are based in Sheffield in a small practice but currently, as you are no doubt finding its difficult to take anyone on even on a voluntary basis in the office - however you never know therefore feel free to send in a CV (click on my user name for email address).

However hopefully in the Spring I will be starting to build a pair of eco-houses (for want of a better word) one for me and one for my neighbour - this will provide big opportunities for getting your hands dirty as there will be a big self build element:

Cashflow is tight so could probably offer little remuneration (labourer rates at best I'm afraid) but potentially a great opportunity and of course once we're watertight there's free accomodation! Get in touch if its of interest.

('think I picked up a flyer for Habitat 4 Humanity at the cathedral on a recent visit to Liverpool - looked very interesting)

    Hi James,
Just been reading your forum discussion on planning permission, eye opening! didn't realise that Eco housing was such a minefield. Anyway, I'll certainly send you my CV, the hands on work sounds great.
    Thanks for the opportunity !

    Stephen
