Posted By: SteamyTeaJust one thing to be careful off now you have insulated it, and you may already know about it/catered for it, is any power cabling needed to be outside the insulation or upgraded.
Over a longer run you are right, but over a short distance (through the insulation) it will be fine.

Wow - The TS looks all warm and fluffy !!

The pump should be alright as long as the motor bit is (just) outside the insulation. Take care that the insulation doesn't slump over time.

    And as it says

"If a cable is totally surrounded by thermal insulation for only a short length (for example, where a cable passes through an insulated wall), the heating effect on the insulation will not be so great because heat will be conducted from the short high-temperature length through the cable conductor."

The insulation was really fun to put on Peter, the girls had a good laugh when they got home and i opened the cupboard! I'm often opening the cupboard to look at the lower thermometer, so i will notice any slumpage. The top thermometer(seen in pic through the fluff)lines up with a little perspex covered hole in the cupboard door..like a ship's porthole!

I find Insulating addictive. Once you realise how effective it is, you can't stop! Maybe I'll send the girls back to live in the decrepid caravan and fill the whole first floor with fluff : )

What you need now is to get your girls to design and make a Raspberry Pi temperature data logger as part of their school technology project.
If you start energy monitoring then you will find out what heroin addiction is like:wink:
