Yeah, great stuff. So now we have a poor man's (sorry woman's) way of visualising local, diurnal variation of atmospheric humidity and a rather fine demonstration of why and how humidity is always substantially higher in summer and autumn in my solid walled house - the hotter it is outside the higher the readings (hand held moisture meter).

Looking at Rasberry Pi and DT1 sensors on line (I shudder!), starting from zero, which to buy and what exactly would one need to purchase with these to link up with a laptop (Dell + Windows Vista + Excel)??

I have one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/silver-usb-wireless-touchscreen-weather-forecaster-n96fy connected to a Pi running pywws to log the data. Very reliable and quite simple to set up. Doing absolutely nothing with the data right now and the rain gauge needs the spiders webs cleaned out. You can get spare parts for it as well.

I may get one of those, I feel the need for a new toy. Can you give instructions on the RPi thread on how to connect it all up please?

An alternative to the RPi that is worth looking at is the .net micro stuff (gadgeteer). Advantage is that a few plug in modules are now available and you can program using visual studio express (free) using c#.

I just ordered that Maplin weather station. Now just got to get up on the roof.
Anyone got a small scaffold tower in Cornwall I can borrow.
