Why does the description start "A specially formulated sealer providing vapour control"?]]>

Gotta be some sort of test to see where it’s coming from!

I put loft boards down and left a big gap between boards and insulation, these boards cover most of the main bit of the attic and they are freezing cold, so I thought they would be wet underneath as the warm air would touch these first, but they are dry as a chip!!]]>

If theres moisture coming through from below it'll condense on the plastic and be visible from above. May help confirm its coming from below??
Good idea]]>

Take some drill samples to see if the chimney is wet... or just use your hand.

Can't see enough moisture escaping from the house into the attic, appears to be a clear roof failing (likely chimney)]]>

Immersions are supposed to have dual safety cutouts to prevent this, but I don't think anyone tests them during heating system servicing, and mine was not working when I tested it.]]>

A clear, cool night follows and windspeed drops. The tiles/slates rapidly cool and the still warm, moist air inside condenses some if it's moisture out on them.

We live in North Cornwall, a tin shed will sweat with no internal sources of moisture. Worst is when the wind changes direction from West to east. Every object with thermal mass sweats.]]>
