The washers seem to have expanded a few mm in diameter and .3mm in thickness, see pics , what in water could cause silicone to blister yet not be harmful to us?

The easiest way I find is to view the photo on the screen (laptop or desktop) then use the "snipping tool" or "snip & sketch" which allows you to drag a box from a corner over the image to select some or all of it. Then save this to the desktop (with an easy to find name) so that you can attach it to your GBF post.
Because it is effectively a screen grab, the quality is lower and so the file is smaller, usually small enough to upload to the GBF.]]>
