They have 3 different charger options:

Ohme Home Pro
Wallbox Pulsar Max
MyEnegyZappi II

Anybody known the pros and cons of these different chargers? I don't have any Solar capability atm but I'm considering this and so would want to ensure good PV integration was available if possible.

Thanks

Andy]]>

Not sure about PV integration. I think cars have minimum current requirements and probably wouldn't like being stopped and started repeatedly so it might be tricky. Just guessing.]]>

As I understand things they will/can use all of your PV for charging if its available and supplement it from the grid if PV drops off so you dont get the intermittancy of PV on its own. We've got a broken Solaredge EV charger as part of one of our PV inverters and I'm sure that its pretty configurable as to how and when it charges.]]>

However if you commute and drive more than a few miles a day you might be surprised just how much juice an EV needs. My better half's 60 mile round trip commute was 15kWh which is over two hours on a 7kW charger every night. It's pretty hard to make a dent in that from solar.]]>

For people who need solar inverters as well as bidirectional EV charging, maybe it would be neat if a single inverter could do both functions, and that might also simplify the conversation with the DNO. IE the EV and the solar both stay on the DC side of the inverter, though at different voltages. With a single AC connection via the consumer unit to/from grid, with whatever current limit is required on that.]]>

I ran the cables and got an electrician to connect it at either end. It dosent need an earth rod unlike some other chargers...

This is what I’d like to do and how I re-wired this house but my “compliant” electrician hasn’t got into this area yet. I’m happy to run cables through the loft, but it’s not something I’d really want anyone else doing and probably not something they’d want to do. Did you cable to the consumer unit or meter box and w hat cable did you use?]]>

Pretty much 100%, I guess, whether the wires are AC or DC!]]>
