I have no idea what that figure is e.g. instant, hourly, daily etc. but not downloadable for scrutiny.

Has anyone used this facility?
Has anyone tried independently ( of any SEG scheme ), datalogging PV export. I'm trying to get a better picture of my PV export, not just the 50% deemed that is my FIT contract.]]>

Your FIT is for generation and export for what you actually sent. There are those on this forum I think get this.]]> Smart meter monitoring http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=17882&Focus=302197#Comment_302197 http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=17882&Focus=302197#Comment_302197 Wed, 28 Jun 2023 19:32:45 +0100 owlman Smart meter monitoring http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=17882&Focus=302198#Comment_302198 http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=17882&Focus=302198#Comment_302198 Wed, 28 Jun 2023 19:55:12 +0100 revor Posted By: owlmanThanks revor, I think you can get PV generation and metered export, but I already receive the deemed 50% export. That's interesting regarding meter manufacturers to get meter access. Some sort of datalogging would be good too.

Do you have smets 1 or smets 2 Maybe you need a smets 2 for export payment.]]>

I'm trying to get a better picture of my PV export, not just the 50% deemed that is my FIT contract.I measure my generation at my generation meter and my consumption/export at my main meter. In both cases I use both an optical reader stuck to the meter and a CT on the cable. I feed both lots into my emoncms system that can draw pretty graphs or export CSV etc. I also record the meter readings by hand at least monthly (daily for generation) for true accuracy.

If/when I get a smart meter I expect I'll be able to get the export data directly. I'm currently thinking of switching to the Intelligent Octopus tariff which will require a smart meter.

edit: to add that my FIT contract is currently with Good Energy but they've made a real pig's ear of my account at the moment so I'm thinking of moving it.]]>

What I found to particularly useful is the power requirement display (kW) at any one time. You can also get the hourly grid import data. If you have a PV datalogger that shows current power generation, you can use all of this to optimise using very devices, washing machine, oven, dishwasher.

I have found that it is very difficult to get a zero grid import during the day as my PV doesn’t generate enough power.]]>
