    Hi All,
My sparky has dropped a clanger and the 85mm cut outs in my ceiling are too big for the LED units he said would be fine!!!! This now means that I have 11-17 units for sale. The donkey did not stop after fitting 1 but continued to fit 11!!!! The have turned on for 2 mins only but will have some plaster dust etc on them. They are brand new but not, if you get me?

    Fire rated
    10 yr warranty
    IP65
    cool white
    brushed steel
    450 lumens

    Product code jc94175.

I may be able to return them to JCC but I am not sure yet.
OK, thats put the feelers out so now to have a one way chat with the sparky!!!!
    Thanks,
    Gusty.:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::cry::cry::cry::wink:

GBF Keith- I was not sure if it was the done thing to sell items on the forum so I tried to call Mr Jerry Clark on 01208 895 105. The number will not take incoming calls? My appologies if I have broken the rules?

I'd make the spark fill the oversize holes and start over or perhaps these would fit the LEDs..

Have you cut the hole too big?
Need to replace large old fashion mains downlights?
The quick and easy solution is to use one of the retrofit converter downlights.

    CWatters,
All of my holes that are too large are in bathrooms. It looks as if that plate is not suitable. How can you fill holes and make it look neat and tidy though? I do not want to replace the whole ceiling. Aurora have a fitting that will take a GU10 LED but I wanted to get away from GU10 LED's if I could. That is why I went for the JCC with a 10 year warranty. My holes are 85mm in the bathrooms. The unit must obviously be IP65 and fire rated.

It can be done if you are careful. Cut pieces of plasterboard say 150 long x say 83mm with a hole in the middle the correct size for the down-lighters. Cut further pieces 85mm dia with holes the correct size.

Dob dri-wall adhesive onto each end of the 150 x 83mm pieces, insert them through the holes and pull down onto the ceiling. Insert the circular inserts with a bit more adhesive. Use self-adhesive scrim and pl'bd joint filler to provide a smooth feathered finish. Rub down as required. job's a good 'un.

    Adopt, adapt, improve.

    Nick,
I had thought of a similar repair job but I have 600mm of rockwool in my loft. I would wreck my lovely insulation trying to get the bits of plasterboard into the loft and under the insulation,
    Gusty.

Could you not do it all from below? The sizes I had suggested allowed for inserting them from underneath, through the holes. The insulation will actually help compress the dri-wall adhesive.

I got you! It takes a while to sink in. Yes this repair would be a possibility. Time to repair all the holes to a good standard could be a problem though. I will have a look tomorrow. Many thanks Nick,
    Gusty.

Can do it with a small stick of wood and a string through a hole in the "plug". It's just to stop the plug falling out while it dries and set the depth.

Did you opt to repair or sell? If the latter & you still have them I would be interested.
