I am selling a new airflow DV72 unit. Never been used and looking for £500. If you are interested let me know. I Will also have lots of 125mm stainless 90 degree bends, t junctions and 45 degree bends for sale going cheap. Let me know if you are interested in either. Search on eBay will show you photos of the unit I'm selling.

    Cheers
    Jock

Hi Jockass, I am interested (I think), but I am not experienced in this area and I need to understand all the implications of going with this unit in my situation. It will be mounted under my slopped roof at it's highest point (nearly 4m) inside the insulated envelope (ie not a loft). As you can see below it really needs to be mounted with the spigots pointing horizontally - can this unit be mounted like this? It will only be extracting from 3 places (all bathrooms) delivering into 2 places, and of the 7 runs (inlc to external), all but one are less than 5m long. Do you have any other bits and pieces I could also buy that would be of help?

I presume I can do this with 'T's, rather than a plenum but I am worried about noise (given that even at 21l/s the specs say 24dB breakout, 2dB1 Inlet Niose and 34dB outlet. I thought these things were supposed to be whisper quiet in the rooms - any suggestions - anyone?

Just noticed they do a ceiling mounting kit (not that that means it can be mounted horizontally but they also do a 'Horizontal Condensate kit' - so I guess that answers one of my questions...

I confess I dont understand all the figures quoted above but the unit looks a good one. I believe that these units should be (or have the ability to be) controlled by air quality within the dwelling so they are not running when not required. The Brookvent has an inbuilt humidistat, does that mean if the humidity rises above a set level the unit will run automatically?, can the same be set for CO ?

joe HR units are designed to run 24/7 - something to do with system4 and building regs I gather. OK some have vacant/on hols settings and just one or 2 vary fan speed steplessly according to air quality (ie humidity and CO2 - aka 'the breathing wall') but invariably humidity sensors only switch fan speed from trickle to boost - as per the Brookvent and cheaper ones needs external sensors in every wet room, and cheaper still ones don't even have the inputs.
