I recon that I could do an EPC from a satellite photo of the house and a shore questionnaire!

What do the rest of us think?

    http://slough-energycare.yourmap.net/map.aspx?map=37&layers=all

Slough councils done it for use , its just a shame no bugger knows ( or cares ) about it in my area , and it's hidden deep in thier web matrix

EPC , dont know much about them , but they seem pointless , am I missing something

they are pointless and a bit meaningless but all home sellers need one as do all landlords.

As it happens I just did an EP evaluation from a satellite and nothing else (but using specialised software that isn't significantly different or better than the standard stuff)

We came up with £15,000 a year for heat & water whereas the actual yearly bill is/was £18,000. Not too bad?

    Hi Tony

No idea to be honest: The estimation was done for a 200 room Country Hall to allow various unusual renewable technologies' business case to be tested. It just so happens that the owners ( a refreshingly pro-active lot) already had the Carbon Trust in to do an evaluation so I had a good comparison of theoretical (from satellite) versus real.

nice one -- was the satellite looking at visible light or infra red?

What does a satellite image tell you that you can do an assesment?

Hi Tony: Just dimensions and construction type (very quick and dirty)
Bot: Local weather data then used to estimate usage comparing to similar usage patterns.
  3.
So presumably you could do the rest of the UK now?

Could do, but the results would be even more pointless than the current EPCs
