    Quick sidetrack on the cable thing - it is OK to have cables in a wall <50mm deep, not mechanically protected, as long as they are RDC protected. Right?

    The cables in question are also exactly vertical leading to sockets.

    I think you need to comply with Reg 522.6.6 and 522.6.7
