    Ringi, wouldn't that mean pushing sheets down past others (assuming you couldn't push the whole wall's worth in in one go)? How could you be sure they hadn't scrunched up leaving gaps at the bottom?

    I was intending to stagger the vertical joints but in practice it was not a good idea, too much hassle and very poor with rolling up and messing up of the faces leaving gaps and small voids, it was easy to pick up batts threat a time and slide in nice, slight pressure horizontally gave a perfect result.

    We reused all mortar dropped, but there wasn't much.

    Maybe what looks like gaps are wall ties.
