I live in Glasgow, and the closer to home the better for work etc.

Thanks for the comments. Would you say this type of course at strathclyde is only suitable for architects or people with previous energy conscious design experience?

Does anyone have any idea of what is involved in the exam?

Thanks for the offer. I'll be down at ecobuild next month. Had a look on SEDA website and realised your supposed to be there too. I'll drop by and have a chat then if you've got time. I am also keen to meet new architects who have your level of experience and qualifications.

I am going to do the tradesperson course first and take it from there.

I'd built our house prior (daft, I know) to taking the course and knew more about green building than many of the architects and technicians on the course. But they where familiar with other terms that I had to learn about. I found, the manual calculations and formulae quite tough but the whole course was very interesting - and I passed - which to be honest came as pleasant surprise.

I imagine the tradesperson course would be very practical and interesting.]]>

I went on the Passive House Tradespersons course with the Scottish Passive House Centre. It was definitely worthwhile. The information was relatively well presented with many good examples. Each area of Passive House was touched on. It was definitely aimed more at the guys on site. Thomas Froehlich from SPHC ran the course and was invaluable with his knowledge and experience....He definitely added to the overall quality of the learning experience.

I am going to proceed with the designer/consultant course at the end of April at Strathclyde Uni. I will keep everyone posted on how it goes.

Completed and passed the consultant/designer course. It was very very hard to pass but offered a huge amount of information above the tradespersons course as expected. I would recommend this course to all architects and designers.
