Part of our annual hot air system service is to check the rooms with the inlet grilles have external vents. As part of installing MVHR I would want to block those up, but would the gas inspector be happy with that?

Thanks]]>

It recirculates and I think it's open flue but I'm not an expert. Mid-70s build, air vents in all rooms.

Undercut doors and run is as a recirculate system.

For condensation problems beware of furniture against outside walls restricting air circulation and heat from the room. Some info here http://readinguk.org/draughtbusters/galleries/condensation/]]>

I had a house like that in the mid 70s but as I recall it just had one big intake in the hall at the bottom of the stairs and outlets in every room.

Has the boiler/furnace been updated or replaced since then? I'd think a 1970s unit would probably be very inefficient.]]>
