    The original Minergie standard is an old-fashioned "low-energy" standard, which was quite good for its day.

    The newer Minergie-P standard from 2002 is basically Passivhaus translated for Swiss law instead of German (e.g. calculation of floor areas). See, for example http://www.rehva.eu/projects/clima2007/SPs/B01D1349.pdf

    Minergie-ECO adds some additional constraints for "ecological" building and can be applied either to Minergie or Minergie-P. It deals with natural lighting, soundproofing, IAQ and choice of building materials.

    So basically it's all a good idea and light years ahead of what we have in this country.
