I'd like to hear your thoughts about this product.
    http://www.mantlepanel.com/Mantle%20Building%20System/index.html
It sounds good but I'm maybe being sucked in to the marketing message.
I'm considering Sips and Durisol for our new build at the moment and don't quite know if this is just Sips by another name or is it a third option?
Thanks in advance for your help.

It looks interesting - a sort of blend of Durisol with SIPS. I like its simplicity.

    Valasay

looks interesting, are the panels made on Jersey, do the have a BBa certificate
  1.
It looks like a conventional SIP system, the only difference is that the outer boards are cement particle boards (so similar to Durisol I think, except the particle board takes no part in the insulation).

    Looks quite interesting.

if they could do a version with a triple or quadruple thickness inner particle board or swap it for a dense concrete board, then it would really excite the high thermal mass brigade!

That is a strange version of English on their website - is that what they speak in Jersey? Trying to wade through it - looks interesting so far but do wish they had got someone else to write the text...

'm not really excited by high thermal mass because we neither get very warm temps or very cold. Airtightness on the other hand is a big factor for me.
Having had this warm spell for a few days now, a question that does spring to mind is how we keep the house cool in the summer. We're bred tough out here in the islands! Some days were really airless and if there's too much thermal mass that would make it harder to breathe (I've had respiratory problems in the past). Am I thinking about things the wrong way???
We thought we were building a house for life when we built our current house 11 years ago but now realise it was a dry run for the real thing that we'd like to start next spring!
Future proofing is important but it's impossible to keep up with the Next Big Thing!
