I want to put down a limestone floor, 15mm random length tiles on an insulated concrete slab. Part of the area is an open plan dining area. the house has a standard wet rad. heating system.

    1. Is it wise to lay them without under floor heating, would have to be electric, space is very tight?

    2. Any one got any experience as their ease of maintainance/cleaning, good or bad?
  1.
Just looked at a job where we put limestone floor we put down 11 years ago , look good as new. Just need to sealed and maintained.
You've an insulated slab so shouldn't be to cold
Do you wear slippers/foot wear round the house generally or in winter ?

Yes Jim it's normal for us to wear footwear around the house in winter. I had looked at porcelain/stone lookalikes because of the maintenance issues but as good as they are, and they are very good, IMO they still don't have that extra something that real stone has.
