    I quite like the insulation on the outside, it needs to hang down 75mm more minimum.

    Having on the inside with the details you propose could lead to a damp and decaying wall plate.

    I do not like the philosophy of combining structure with insulation but if you must why not make them better insulating without thermal bridges all over the place!

    You mean the screed? Insulating the face of the slab won't do anything. Or do you mean down the face of the foundation itself? It really would be helpful to see the drawing of what we're actually discussing, rather than a drawing of something we're not discussing. Where's the foundation for the brick exterior, for example?

    Our ground conditions are not suitable for a passive raft type solution, we would have to excavate the footprint over 2m down, which would be hideously expensive.

    Interesting. We went for a passive slab because the cost of digging the double depth holes that you need for strip foundations was more expensive. What causes the need for a 2 m hole for the passve slab? Have you considered piles as an alternative?
