    New baby put the attic project on hold. I just need to finalise the detail at the ridge.

    I still don't see why insulating right to the ridge is an issue?

    Nor me, whatever ventilation you have needs to continue outside the insulation and not get inside it.

    Well there is 2" PIR between rafters right up to the ridge. And 3" proposed below which will form a point rather than a flat section.

    The ridge still has 1" air gap and has breathable felt over...

    So no real requirement for a flat section at the top?
