Hello, wanted to introduce myself as I often run through the discussions with interest on the search for knowledge. I run a domestic building company doing refurbishments, extensions and other works. I am embarking on a timber frame extension on my own house currently when work allows. Looking forward to posting and hopefully being able to offer help to others.

Hi jccamp, and welcome from another Sussex member of the forum.

I'm sure you will find fellow GBF members friendly and helpful. But be prepared for their offbeat sense of humour.

Also, if you run a building company, be careful of the forum's rules about commercial promotion. Having said that, lots of members are in the trade. Most of them seem to negotiate the rules without problems.
