My thoughts are towards Louvre type to allow some light in and fresh air.Sounds like a good solution. An alternative that we have found sufficient is to fit a flyscreen over the outside of the window. It blocks enough of the light to make the difference for us, can be left permanently in place, and keeps the flies out :)

Posted By: tonyI have roller shutters and they roll right down for blackout but can be lifted a bit and lots of light comes in through little slots.I considered roller shutters when I built but two factors based on my limited previous experience decided me against them:
