I was thinking about what I want for Christmas (personally I don't want anything, but people will insist on buying me stuff!!).

Anyway, if a rich Aunt insisted in buying you something for Christmas, what would you ask for and why?

A new set of "workshop only" chisels, but nobody seems to listen. All the others seem to get knackered doing site work.

A big tent to put over the house so that I could slate the roof without the benefit of gale force winds and sleet.

Someone to do my tax return - not so much fill in the form as find all the relevant bits of paper and the HMRC login details (again) - sad eh?

Oh, and some homemade fudge just in case any relatives are reading.

    ps That's a lovely car.

Some plasterboard, bathroom suite, skirting, doors, a day off and a new kayak (and the time to use it) would be nice.

    Merry Xmas to you all

Apropos kayaks etc. I always fancied a Canadian type canoe they somehow seem a much more relaxed mode of waterborne transport, but I have no experience of either.

Depends. You're on your knees the whole time in one of those, I find sitting down in a kayak much more comfortable.

Just saw a 3 ft long remote control helicopter with an on-board camera in my local shopping centre. Rang SWMBO on the pretext that our 26 year old son would love it (obviously hoping to get a go myself), but permission was refused.

It would only last me 5 minutes before a terminal crash, but those 5 minutes would be magnificent!
  1.
I got an AR Done a while back with the excuse that I could use it for taking aerial shots of the build. Trouble is I just haven't had the courage to fly it that high!

There is an old joke about the similarities of making love in a Canadian canoe and Adnams beer

Plenty of room at Penzance Heliport now to practice with an RC Helicopter, the windsock is still there:
