Anyone recommend a very high efficiency Combi Gas Boiler that has a long manufacturers Warranty? Love to go for something greener but finances will not allow. Thanks.

Go for one with a stainless steel heat exchanger not aluminium.

Vailant or viessmann are the best.

I'll second that, stainless steel HE is the way to go.

The ATAG boilers are nice as well, 10y warranty on the HE.

ECO-Hometec, Quantum, Archie Kidd, ACV are also supposed to be very good boilers.
  1.
Thanks both, I will look at these

A perception amongst many people i have spoken to is that Worcester Bosch are a good reliable boiler, but they have not been mentioned here - do Johan and Nigel have any experience of them?

(I may end up with a new gas boiler myself so am genuinely interested in the experience of others on this)

A lot of worcester bosch boilers have an aluminium heat exchanger which you should avoid.

I have an oil one with a stainless HE which has been fine but I think most of the gas ones are aluminium.

I did a lot of research on this and concur with the above.

The stainless steel heat exchanger is important.

I believe Viessmann and Atag are most highly regarded, with Vailant as another good option.

    You might want to consider:
    weather compensation (widely available)
ability to take pre-heated water in case you want to add solar in the future (the Atags allow this)
integrated hot water store (the new Vaillant range looks a good bet; the Atag ones are double the price)

Note: I got a Vailant ecoTEC becuase they had a lot of low power boilers (useful when you are getting a system boiler for a small house rather than a combi).
