Archmoco - what kind of lifespan have the suppliers indicated for your Cembrit given your particular application?

I think I've found a local supplier, a guy up the road (literally) who can mill planks but I need to get a T&G channel profile machined. I have no experience of this, how easy is it to do, what sort of price would it be, who could do it?

Duchy timber - 01208 872338 in Lostwithiel but have one up your way Tom at Ottery St Mary.
My cladding is from them and is cheap as chips and they are very helpful. They did rather insist on treating it though for insects which I have read a bit about on t'internet so went along with. Arrives monday.
Marley cement boards are £20 for 3050mm by 1016mm for the larger profile and £25 for smaller profile at 3050mm by 782mm delivered. Again up your way ....Conibears in Crediton. We are getting grey and painting black as they have long lead times, close for 2 weeks in July and costs much more for colour.

Machining T&G is pretty standard stuff for a wood machinist, but the profiles available will to some extent depend on the tooling. Obviously the smart thing would be to design the profile around the tooling he already has. As for price, that depends mainly on the raw stock. What wood did you eventually go for? Is it UK stock? is it air dried or kilned? What grade is it?
As a guide I've just had some timber machined, nominal 25 x 100, grade 1 Douglas Fir T&G the total was £3.00 Plm. inc VAT and delivery.
