Can be extended to several metres. It is an extractor fan that stores heat in a ceramic block, then changes direction and sucks air in over the ceramic to recover the heat.

How do these things avoid just sucking back in the stuff they've just blow out? Do they just try and blow out at the top and suck in at the bottom of the grille thing, or something like that?]]>

Dunno about that particular model. Some do as you suggest and others do alternate blow and suck down the same pipe but I've never really looked into the subject - give me two separate pipes every time! Others may know more.]]>
