    K Rend do a product called 'Algae Clean' which we used on our north facing elevation (actually rendered using Parex DPR Smooth). We diluted it 2:1 or so, and applied with a window cleaning bush ... and bingo, 3 days later any sign of algae growth had all gone. The render was newly done 2 years ago, but the discolouration was not good, and I'm very pleased we found this product. Since then, Parex kindly gave me some 'Paraguard' to try out ... I think it leaves the surface slightly hydrophobic so rainwater beads as it runs down etc. Haven't tried it out yet, but will report back when I do ....

    We are less than a mile from the sea (in several directions) and after a storm (but not a usually after a 'mere' gale) we often have a coating on the windows. I've not tried tasting it, but it looks like the sort of film a car picks up on a slushy, salted, road, and it washes off very easily.

    Our beighe-ish Sto render shows no sign of algae after 5 years - the window seal on my car parked nearby and out stone work both have green algae.

    i use household bleach on our white k rend walls i dilute it about 60/40 water/ bleach and spray it on with a cheap 5 lt weed sprayer . kills the algae i do it about once a year and the walls are as white as the day they were done.
