The house that featured in a Grand Designs programme is for sale in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire.

The house has won an award for its environmental credentials, the county council's best eco-friendly new build in 2005.

The agents details show that it scores 79 on the Energy Efficiency Rating. http://bit.ly/qj8F6Z

Nice to see mention of the infamous limecrete floor... I did a course at Ty Mawr lime (who supplied the floor) a few years ago and the annoyance at the mistakes made and resulting bad PR for limecrete was very apparent.

Interesting that the potential rating is shown as being the same as the actual rating. Yet immediately below the EPC is the statement: "The residence has oil-fired underfloor central heating." And the word "solar" doesn't appear in the 22-page description.

So I'd guess there's some scope to reduce emissions.

But then again perhaps not if was "the county council's best eco-friendly new build"
