What are the existing ones you want to replace?
    Incandescent/fluorescent/dichroic/paraffin?

What are they spending now on getting blown bulbs replaced, does the company call out electrician to do it?

    How about motion switches?

What Will says. For example, we need to know a lot more about how they are serviced before deciding whether making them all the same is sensible or not.

So they don't repair/replace lamps when they fail? They just live with dark spots/rooms?

Tony, if they replace fluorescents with more fluorescents or LEDs, they won't save electricity/carbon/money.

Is that really what they were hoping? Or do they need replacing anyway, for looks or for emergency lighting?

Electricity is dramatically less carbon-intensive than it was even a few years ago, so there's less environmental benefits now from scrapping and replacing existing fittings. Just avoid halogen downlighters.

I understand what you're saying, but a modern T5 with an electronic ballast may be twice as efficient as an old T12 with magnetic ballast. LEDs can approach the efficiency of a T5 fitting.
