Had a little play with my data and this is the first chart I have done looking at my energy use on the main circuit which has the 1 kW fan heater plugged into it. I was in all that day working, so kept the kitchen, where I work at a steady 21C, min of 19C, max of 22.7C over the whole 24 hours.
Now some of the other loads on the main circuit are the shower, kettle, cooker, PCs, as I have averaged the 6s sampling to every 10 minutes, it is a little hard to tease out exactly what is on. But as I had was up at 6 AM, the heater and kettle went on then, shower about 7:30, more tea, settle down to work, spot of lunch at 12:30 PM, more work, then cooked supper at about 18:45 PM.
Be interesting to see if other days follow this pattern.

Apart from the getting up later, it is about what I do, oh and the tea, is 7 mugs before 8am too much?

Look at PVGIS: it will compute the results of 1-axis and 2-axis tracking for you.

So, is it possible to quantify(ish) the loss of thermal gain caused by me painting my house. It was (and some still is) grey render and it is now becoming light yellow. I can tell you that after a day of big sun (ie 5-6 months of the year) just walking along the balcony after the sun has set allows you to feel significant heat from the wall - when I painted one section the difference was remarkable! The walls face SW and SE and are solid stone 40cm thick with plaster on cement inside, no insulation. Sadly, our need for cool in the summer outweighs our desire to save wood in the winter and the render is capillary open and the stone hygroscopic, so I guess the answer to my question doesn't matter but v interested in whether the loss of gain (!) is significant in terms of my wood usage.

Gut instincts for the scale of the issue hoped for rather than long sums based on assumptions various...of course some on here love that sort of thing!

Thanks ST. I don't use AirCon we just used to get too hot! I do have a huge extractor fan (2m3/sec) that runs when the outside temp is lower than inside but it is still not an offset. Nevertheless, you tenor is 'not much more wood' I think.
