Have read various earlier comments re weather compensated heating control for which Honeywell Aquatrol 2000 was considered ideal, but apparently discontinued. Honeywell just said its new 'Smile' controller is Aquatrol replacement: responds to outside temperatures and boasts pre-loaded basic programs to reduce planning and start-up effort, see www.smile-control.com
PS. Up to five Smile controllers can be wired together via a two-wire bus to form a control system

The info in the .pdf file is rubbish, it talks abouts its size and all sorts of stuff but does not say what it does. It does not mention the time delays associated with the house heating from the sun or cooling when the sun sets or the heating goes off. I expect its a little better then a conventional timer and thermostat but whether its worth its cost and complexity is debatable. I suspect if you went on the course, its full value might become apparent. I also wonder how many plumbers could wire in and set this beast up correctly. Also without test points any fault in any component would leave you naked as to where the fault would lay, i.e. internal or external to this box?
