    Hi everyone,
I've recently started looking into the sphere of vertical gardening as part of my work or my "Green Building" project.
Does any one in the forum have experience in this sphere or in building vertical gardens for villas?

What are the costs? What kind of insulation is needed?
    Are there any leading brands?
do we need to order some special supplies?
Thank you in advance for your kind replies, as always.
    Have a great week!

Out of interest, is your 'Green Building' project an academic or practical one?

Hi zgreentouch, you can address me privately, I have deleted my questions from the other discussion. I am posting it here once again. My first question will be- what are you trying to achieve with the vertical vegetation (design element, privacy- space separation, shade, or just a hobby...) and details about the exact site conditions (indoor\outdoor, dimensions, climate).

I believe much of the information you are looking for is affected by those parameters. Also it's important to know there is plenty of hype around this topic but I would have to be very careful recommending anything before I understand exactly what you are looking for because we have had mixed experiences with vertical gardening.

Nick, the project that I'm talking about is a practical project that involves building several vacation houses in Lebanon.
When I first began working on the project, and since green construction is a personal hobby of mine, I realized that the project should include eye-catching features that will attract buyers to green construction and the green lifestyle.
While searching online, I came across some breathtaking vertical gardening projects, and I therefore want to look into using such technologies in one of the external walls of the buildings, possibly the kitchens' external wall.

As Nick says, there is a lot of hype about it.

Having said that, it is just a glorified window box, no idea if you get such things in Lebanon (do we still say "The Lebanon").
Having done a small experiment on a green roof, I found that there were no measurable thermal affects in the UK. Though it was not the most comprehensive test. I did post the results up in here I think.

There was something on the radio here about growing salad crops on walls, could have been Gardeners Question Time, Costing The Earth or The Food Programme, I really can't remember (do a BBC Radio 4 search).
    If it is still available.
