Hi folks

I'm in the market for a couple of wood stoves (or multi fuel, but no plans to burn anything other than wood). I'm very drawn to Dowling Stoves, but there aren't a great many reviews out there. And obviously they do things a bit differently than most stoves you see from the better known names.

So I wondered if anyone here has one if they'd be happy to share their experiences? Or for that matter, even if you don't have one but have thoughts about them it would be great to hear fro you...

They certainly look different some would say industrial,quirky; I looked at them a few years ago when I was after a pedestal stove. I eventually opted for a Jotul cast steel one with a ceramic lining, which I prefer, and glass on three sides.
Like philedge I'd query their compliance.

I know nothing on this make except quick look at the website but what I would recommend is a stove with it own individual air intake from outside. Keeps the air you have heated in the room, and you can have any size above 5Kw without having to have an airbrick or other vent into the room causing draughts and loss of heat. I have 2 Heta wood burning stoves and we are very pleased with them.
