    Hi Ashley,
I am due to start my course in exactly 1 week from today and in the same sitaution as yourself, i am looking at a complete career change and would be interested to know how you intend to get employment.

If you are thinking of the self employed route, what steps have you taken so far, i would be very interested to know what you have to do.

    Hi,
Can anyone give me some advice please, I have been a plumber for over 30 years and would like a career change. I would like to find out more with regard to training to become a Domestic Energy Assesor, is there a web site I can check out? thanks.

martyn, look above and under energy certificates in building regs section. loads of sites, just google domestic energy assessor, try dclg.gov, energy assessors.com and elmhurst energy.co.uk and/or phone me as above. personally however i would not consider it as a full time career change not least because the flow and source of work is uncertain but because it would become very boring after a while!

Thanks for your swift help Ken, I will certainly check out your advice. Hopefully, all being well, I want to 'wind down' in a few years time, so it would be a part time occupation. Thanks again, martyn
