    Does anybody know of an English language summary of the German EnEv standards? At least the numerical values of the various limits and ideally some explanation of how they're defined. I'm particularly interested in EnEv 2009 but a history of how they have evolved over time would be interesting too.

    Failing an English summary, what's the best page to point google translate at?

    I put "EnEv 2009" without quotes into google and translated the first hit... Seems to have current version and the version from 2009-2013.

    U values don't appear to be a lot better than ours, but the important thing is the fact that the primary energy demand requirement exists. I wonder how that is measured to ensure compliance?

    I feel very dumb, but apart from the U-values I'm having trouble interpreting that lot. Where exactly are the primary energy demand numbers for example? Or the airtightness?

    Don't you have to use UK figures.

    No, Germany will have a different ratio of primary to delivered energy that the UK (as it is integrated into the EU grid more than us).

    I don't care about how energy is generated in the countries; I care about the standards houses are built to. That's why I am asking about them!

    Then I don't understand your question about primary energy demands and can't offer any more.
