Good evening, a while back there was a discussion revolving around the benefits of dry / warmed subsoil under a floor having been warmed/dried from being under an uninsulated slab. Can’t seem to find a search term that brings it up , can anyone point me in the right direction. Thank you.

It might have been me, interseasonal thermal storage. Every time I have dug up an old floor in an old house it has a Keats been bone dry underneath. The soil well sit at the average temperature of the house immediately under the floor and get cooler as you move further away. Moisture will migrate towards cooler places due to partial vapour pressure driving it there

Might be worth searching under 'skirt insulation'?

Yep, that’s the one thank you, had a very quick skim and my recollection was very selective it would seem, i’ll read it properly again.

I’m interested in the same thing having a 130sqm concrete floor building to convert, and wondering if we can avoid digging it all out. But in discussion yesterday we came to the conclusion that because we can get a decent size digger through the large door it wouldn’t be that difficult this time (having done the previous 2 with shovels and a wheelbarrow)
