Lost in Transmission is a report just published by the Sustainable Development Commission concerning the future organization of our energy supply industry. Perhaps tangential to Green Building, but with 46% of UK CO2 emissions coming from buildings, it's an important document for anyone with an interest in the energy use in buildings. The matter of household generation and grid tie up is particularly addressed.

Means the likes of us on this forum carry the key to nations' energy future. We're developing the skills to make the entire building stock low-, zero- or negative-energy, which along with industrial process demand reduction would bring energy demand within the capability of renewables. Result, no need for nukes, detachment from oil addiction, freedom from Putin's malign influence (yet to be exerted), and let the far east sink in CO2 and pollution until it learns the lesson for itself.
