Hi all, i have programmed a little program in Excel, that is yours for free, all i need i some feedback.

You can get the program here : http://www.spar-varme.dk

You MUST allow macros, otherwise it wont work.

You MUST have Access, Excel installed with "Run all from this computer", otherwise there will be problems with the references in Excel (Visual Basic for Applications).

    And, its Free.

And please tell us why we should trust a spreadsheet with macros in it from some whose account is less than 10 minute old.
And with no reference as to what it is about.

It maybe be OK, here's an English PDF explaining what the spreadsheet does: http://www.spar-varme.dk/Doku/sparEng.pdf

Whilst I'm rightly cautious about things that run VBA and macros in Office applications, it also seems from the web site that this runs on Open Office, too, which may be somewhat safer.

Can we give you a credit card number anyway?

Well cannot tell you why you should trust me, it up to you to decide.

No i do not need your credit card number.

The reason for posting this, is to get user comments on the program it selves.

Sorry for my English in the Doku, thanks to Google translate :-)

Apologies if un warranted but there has been a spate of spamming lately and common sense should have forewarned you of inviting strangers to open un solicited attachments might be suspicious.

Had an email recently from a supplier that was genuine, they didn’t seem to take onboard that they had sent it without any info from a generic type email, with the vague statement please open attached and switch on macros. I guessed who it was as I was expecting something, I phoned to check and they seem quite surprised that I was suspicious about it.

    Cheers Mike up North

Maybe i can answer now..... Allright Mike thats understandable, i get your point.

We do´nt have so many of that kind of problems in Denmark yet. Anyhaw, i won´t force anyone to download and use the program. I´ts given with an open hearth and was not to get any angry comments.

Best regards and have a nive weekend

"Sorry for my English in the Doku, thanks to Google translate :-)"

It was a good effort Steen and generous of you to offer the spreadsheet.

Many thanks on behalf of the jaded lot on here.

Next time they'll know who you are and you'll get a warmer welcome. (The Cornish do get a bit grumpy at this time of year.) :tooth:

Cause it is busy with rain soaked tourists.

Maybe some screen shots and more detailed explanations would have helped.
As it is in Excel, I can't really think why macros are needed for charting, unless it is curve matching for extrapolation purposes.

Anyway, I do my own

I'm pretty appalled by the manners shown by some here. Forum rules state that we should treat each other with respect on the GBF, but that's gone out of the window.

Here is a new bloke who's developed a spreadsheet for comment and perusal. Because you don't know him and he's not in your established "gang", some have assumed his objectives are unworthy and treated him with utter contempt. Do you have any idea how elitist and cliquey you sound? Proper playground stuff.

Surely only fools such as George W approve of the policy to shoot first and ask questions later.

Shame on you! Full apologies are in order.

PS The fact that he's from a country which is so far ahead of the UK in terms of environmental construction should surely be a reason to encourage his participation here, not to nastily and vindictively accost him.

Nonsense, it was a simple misunderstanding. He came on here and inadvertently made a suggestion that on face value was as dodgy as hell. The reaction he got was appropriately skeptical. It turns out some people on the internet really don't have your best interests at heart. Running unsolicited code from untrusted third parties is a genuinely bad idea, as I'm sure SavingMan would agree.

Certainly not his fault though, the only thing he's guilty of is being a bit keen and diving in unannounced. I don't think anybody has posted anything on this thread out of malice.

Well from Linkedin it would appear that SavingMan (aka S**** Hj****) is one of the following:
    1) Manager at a Consulting company in Brazil
    2) Business Intelligence consultant in pharmaceuticals co. in Copenhagen
    3) Captain in Scandinavian Airlines, Copenhagen
    4) A Student at Lyngby Technical College specialising in computing, Copenhagen
    5) Personnel director, Copenhagen

    I'd guess number 4 maybe.......:shamed:

IMO, it was sceptical (which was appropriate) but also rude (which was not).

If this was an attempt by someone to trojan subscribers' computers, then it's highly unlikely that they'd come back to read the replies anyway...
