I have vil lager wood stove with 5kw boiler which i am connecting to heat store on floor above using 28mm pipes.
I have chased the pipes into the wall at 45 degrees to promote strong thermo syphon reaction. does anyone know if this is ok for regs, and the best way to get hot water to heat store?
foil wrap insulation and plastered over?

You will get cracks in the plaster so use some reinforcement in the base coats.

Usually we use pipes to get hot water about the place!

Sounds absolutely fine in terms of thermosyphoning as I understand it you can actually have quite log horizontal runs as long as there is a good rise near to your boiler.

One issue I have come accross is where your boiler is heating the store directly (ie the water in the store is the same as that in your boiler circuit) where a pump is a good idea. Haven't got to that point yet so haven't persued it (more thinking aloud than anythong else!).

If you have a continuous rise you should have no problems at all - do it all in 28mm.
Try to avoid horizontal runs if possible - make it rise just a little bit at all times if poss.
If you plaster with a lime based plaster cracking will be reduced.
My pipes are on the surface - I'm trying to heat the house anyway and quite like copper....

not sure about regs on the piping - it is part D or G I think from memory (anyone remember?) - contact someone who knows pluming as the docs will be big..

    Dear Trotsky
Is your thermal store primary and secondary open vented?
    Kind regards
