    Hi all.
I am starting the planning process for a 150m2 detached house including a workshop. I have gone through Pre-planning which was helpful and a good stear on certain things. I have the backing of the local Parish Council as long as the design fits in locally.
Obviously the house will be well insulated, 3G and airtight as possible with possibility of PV if I can afford it.The site is South facing.
I have been thinking (and looking) at timber frame/warmcell/Fermacell type construction- Like Viking House! Although I am open to others ideas/options depending on cost etc. I have been reading this forum for a couple of years now (so have gained some good information already-many thanks) while saving and mulling over ideas!
Does anyone know of a good architect and timber frame manufacturer who is reasonably local- nearest towns are Shrewsbury, Newtown, Oswestry- that sort of area.
    Thanks, Matt

For a good local architect you could do far worse than Pat Borer who had designed many of the buildings at CAT and my self build house in South Wales

I contacted Powys planning dept several times regarding design features, I complied with their suggestions, got designs drawn up by a Newtown architects office, then discovered that the original OPP granting did not cover access to the highway, which has been refused.. The Highways dept is also a Powys council dept! The vendor is refusing to make any adjustment to the plot. So the search goes on. My needs are modest, a single storey home on a plot of 14metres width, with public transport in easy reach.

You also want to have a chat with Ben Meade at Penycoed insuation in Meifod.

They have lots of contacts in the area doing passivhaus type buildings and install warmcell.

Lowfield Timber frames in Marton are worth talking to.

Thanks Nigel- drive past Lowfield TF on a regular basis so easy to visit- they seem keen on SIPs tho. I was planning on contacting Penycoed about using warmcel but had not thought about asking about their contacts ets so thanks for that idea!
I should clarify the site is just in Shropshire- looking into Wales!
