I hope this is allowed, I have looked through the rules and can't see that its not.

I have a friend who is helping a restoration of an old house, they have had to take some oak beams out and they are not re-using them.

He asked me if I was interested but I can't use them as they are curved ( for over arched doorways). Before he tries to sell them openly he agreed I could try the forum first. They will be cheaper than buying from a specialist salvage yard.

If its allowed and anyone is interested in knowing more, then I will post more details.

I have deleted my e-mail contact so you have to post so I remain transparent

My husband has taken some photos as we are taking the pitched pine beams, but when I try to upload the photo onto this thread I am getting a message that it is larger than allowed?

If need be I will e-mail the photo so I have replaced my e-mail address.

The oak ones are not as curved as I was led to believe, when told they went over doorways I imagined them to be half circles but they are no where near, they are just crooked. My husband has seen one cleaned up and says they are beautiful. They are approx 350 years old and he could not see any signs of any damage/rot etc.

    Friend has said £7 a foot ?????

Jonti, if you could whisper me or e-mail me with your phone number I will get him ( John ) to give you a ring. I also need to know whereabouts (ish) you are and if you will pick up or need delivering.
