We're building a straw bale house, with some double timber frame bits for the awkwardly shaped areas. I'm just thinking about the penetrations I need for things like TV antenna, solar PV and thermal etc. The general strategy is to avoid passing things through the bales and to do it in framed areas instead. Some needs are definite, like the TV antenna, but others are future maybe, including solar thermal. I could put in blanked off conduits for everything I can think of, but does anybody know of a workable scheme to allow the wall penetrations to be adjusted later?

The timber frame will be filled with cellulose on Wednesday, so whatever I'm going to to needs to be done quickly. Another goal is that the house is airtight when we finish, and remains so.

No need, just pull out handfuls of straw, seems adjustable to me, thin wires and pipes would be OK poked through with a rod or monster needle. Window sized holes may need a lining.
