20ft Container for sale. Located in the Central Belt of Scotland. Good condition; wind and water tight. Buyer arranges transport.

Out of interest, how much does a 20ft container weigh.

I only ask as I need a container but the access to site is via a narrow track with a stone wall and a drop on one side and limestone outcrop on the other. So I'd have to drag the thing up the track to site using a tractor.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intermodal_container says 2.2Tonne. Have fun!!!!

I was thinking of keeping it as a shed/store but the cost of moving it there was excessive.

Triassic, lots of people have moved containers around with jacks, logs, tirfors and the like. If you can get a tractor in line with it I'd think it'd need to be a slow and careful operation but not too difficult. Still, when you actually stand next to one of these boxes it seems a bit intimidating.

One neat thing about 20ft containers is that they have fork lift pockets (longer ones don't, I think). If you can get a telehandler to it you can lift it easily and move it sideways quite high up - maybe that'd give clearance over you wall, etc?

Normally someone locally with a hiab who can move for a reasonable price..... get it exactly where required. The American military have clever bolt on wheel/jacks attachments to turn them into trailers
