We're currently looking at flooring option for the downstairs of our new build. We were originally thinking of polished concrete, but have recently been looking at poured resin.

We visited Senso last weekend and were pretty impressed. It is cheaper than polished concrete, shouldn't crack, works with underfloor heating, is non porous so shouldn't stain and we were given lots of promises about how hard wearing it is. It is softer underfoot too.

We are now considering it for the bathrooms as well.

Does anyone have any experience with this product? Is it durable / good to live with?

    Thanks,
    Richard

I don't think durability is an issue - gets used for shops, hospitals etc. personally I don't like the look - reminds me to much of hospitals.

If you're putting in ugh you need to budget for a screed as well. When I looked at it there wasn't a thing in it cost wise against concrete (and I'm sure resin is more practical)

There are also other resin products like this one http://www.ecoscreed.co.uk/products/ecoscreed-deco-verde

(no connection or recommendation; just came across it in my research)

What's the (approx) cost of the Senso product?

I've been quoted £120 per sqm ex VAT by Senso. There seems to be quite a high fixed cost and then the price falls per sqm as you have it installed over a larger area.

We are thinking about adding in the bathrooms to make it a bit more economical per sqm.

Only advice I'd give is make sure you get the right protection on your furniture - we used it on a school once and the client's metal legged furniture scratched it to ribbons within weeks...

The material itself is indeed quite durable but the surface finish can be marked etc. so be clear on the maintenance regimes and it will stay looking good.

Wow £120 M2 +Vat plus, maybe another £20-30? for screed as Simon Still says. For that price you can get the very best quality large format Italian porcelain floor tiles in an almost infinite variety of surface finishes. Or natural stone for that matter. With none of the other potential issues, already mentioned.
