Just had an interesting conversation with my SAP accrediting body. My license is up for renewal and rather than pay them the £100s needed for software and assessor licenses, it seems prudent to go to Stroma, which is free.

My accrediting body (who I should keep nameless!) told me on the phone that Stroma are "unethical" because amongst other things, they steal their assessors' clients for future work.

This is quite an allegation. Does anyone have anything to say on the subject?

    No --
  1.
We had quite a session with a 'Code Assessor' who had actually outsourced the job to A.N. Other. timing of the Design stage cert' was critical and when we couldn't get hold of the 'Assessor' (the pretend one) we phoned up Stroma to see how they were getting on with the QA check.

All ended up unnecessarily complicated, with us and our client vowing to pay for us to train and become accredited on the next decent size job, throughout Stroma, were as helpful as possible and as circumspect about the role of the 'Assessors' (the pretend one and the real one). When it came to us training they were very helpful in putting us in the right direction for courses, finding out about grant funding streams etc. Not once did they advertise (or even mention) their own services as Code Assessors.
