I am currently using Energy Design Tools for u value calculations and condensation calculations.

The calculations are ok and i have a reasonable grasp of using the program and its many flaws and glitches.

I often have problems with interstitial condesation and am looking to get a better understanding and knowledge of the problems how to overcome them.

I am also very interested in Passiv Haus and have looked into becoming a Passiv Haus designer but wish to gain more knowledge and a solid understanding of the basics before I pursue that avenue any further.

Any help or links to teaching aids / tutorials etc would be great

    Thanks in advance

For condensation, get a copy of WUFI (there's a free version to start). There's lots of docs listed on their Literature page.

For PH, buy a copy of PHPP. It comes with a manual that explains a lot, and there's various bits scattered around the web, but I think if you want to understand it deeply it's best to go on a course because there's lots of niggly details about how to use various bits.

Condensation is a combination of physics and statistics, then a bit of guessing, fudging and hope. Seems to work though.

The other way to deal with it is to design out the problem from the very beginning.

My mum really truly did work for Estate Agents named Doolittle and Daley. Oh, so it's true if Joiner says so - I did wonder. Mum's were in Chichester. She was putting all property details onto IBM punched cards - daft idea, didn't work, never will.
